Grrrrr. I'm a morning person. I like to wake up before everyone else is up and have the house to myself. It's like stolen time that no one knows exists. One of the best places to be is New York City at that hour, when a few people are out walking their dogs but it's before people have to rush to work. It's magic hour. The city's just about empty.
And I've had insomnia on and off for the last few months, and it's been much worse since my surgery. So basically I'm too tired to do anything at night, and then I sleep through my favorite time and wake up punch drunk and grumpy.
I find I'm whining a lot. People ask me how I'm feeling and I always tell them, when they probably don't really want to know. But then, I even answer store clerks when they ask me if I'm having a nice day. I tend to share far too much with the world.
We been talking about our favorite tv shows, and god bless TIVO (or the Dish Network version of it) because otherwise I would be hopelessly screwed. But here are my must-see tivo'd shows for the week.
Monday -- 24 (no matter how weak it is this year) and Heroes. Unfortunately I want to watch Dancing with the Stars, even though I avoid reality shows unless it's Project Runway, but Apolo Anton Ohno is just so damned cute. So I go over to my friend's house and watch it with her whild the other two shows tape.
Tuesday -- NCIS, House, Veronica Mars
Wednesday -- Jericho, Lost, Bones
Thursday -- CSI, Grey's Anatomy
Friday -- Stargate, Stargate Atlantis, Ghost Whisperer (though those are more for my husband)
Saturday -- absolutely nothing
Sunday -- Cold Case and the treat of the week: Blood Ties. Mind you I'm lusting after a beautiful young man who happens to be my daughter's age, but tant pis. I'll give him to one of my heroines and they'll have a lovely time together.
I'm looking forward to Eureka, The Closer, Project Runway, Dr. Who, and assorted other goodies that might pop up.
I've given up on Smallville, Gilmore Girls (though I'm lured back occasionally), Seventh Heaven, and I've never had the chance to get into Supernatural, which I think I'd like but it scared me the one time I tried to watch it (I'm such a wuss).
So, tell me what your favorite tv is? Am I missing an absolute treat? You'll notice there are just about zero sitcoms and reality tv -- I like mystery and strong characters. And reruns are coming up soon -- maybe it'll be time to check out somthing I missed first time around.

No treats you haven't mentioned but I too have gotten hooked on 24 in a big way. Also love Jerico simply because of the fascinating premise. I must admit to the guilty pleasure of one reality show, The Amazing Race, because I can visit so many fascinating pleases.
DEXTER!!
The first season is over, but it's re-airing on Showtime now, Sunday nights at 9 ET.
It can be gory and disturbing (our 'hero' is a charming Miami PD blood spatter analyst by day, and ruthless vigilante serial killer by night, after all), but if you don't have any problems with the subject matter, I can't recommend it enough. It will really make you wonder about the people you *think* you know...
I like Medium and I like House. Though I watch them more in reruns than otherwise. I'm intending to get all the seasons of The Sopranos and watch it from start to finish, but just as I'm doing with Lost, I'm waiting for the DVDs, not watching it new as it airs.
I never miss a Southpark. Talk about a commentary on our social idiocy! It cuts deeper than anything else out there.
I like America's Next top Model, in spite of myself. But mostly I like news shows and fake news shows. The Daily Show, Countdown with Keith Oberman, The Colbert Report, Hardball with Chris Matthews, Anderson Cooper 360, The Situation Room, Suze Ormon, etc.
I find I like following politics this year. So I'll go for it.
Maggie
I agree with Maggie - Situation Room, Oberman, et al. I watch Anderson Cooper at 5 AM when I'm up and it's repeated. Jon Stewart and Steven Colbert are geniuses. House is a favorite and so is Lost.
Only reality show I watch is Project Runway - for Tim Gunn.
Since I'm a history geek (and an odd one at that). I'm usually on the History Channel - tonight: UFO Files, Underworld and Digging for the Truth. But loved Bleak House on PBS.
It's a wonder I have time to read, let alone write - but sometimes TV watching is very selective - what I feel like on any given day.
I forgot The Office - never miss - I think I work there, sometimes.
Okay, so I don't watch real TV (mostly because I work a night shift and I refuse to pay for cable), but rather buy things on DVD. Favs are "Charmed," "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," (which never takes itself seriously), "The Highlander-The Series," and "Stargate SG-1," which you already mentioned. Oh, and "Law & Order" in just about any of its forms.

The CSI's, Medium, House and a few on your list. I still haven't given up on Gilmore Girls. Usually the dialogue inspires me but it sure isn't up to snuff this year *sigh*
Real Time with Bill Maher (on HBO, Fridays at 11pm). I would watch the Daily Show and the Colbert Report, but I never remember they're on. Other than that, I haven't watched television since Lois & Clark went off the air.
Oh, wait. I lied. Last year I watched THRESHOLD until it was cancelled. I meant to watch Jericho this year, but forgot it was on.
MTV has really interesting reality TV shows, though it's full of drama... but then again, that's what it makes it so interesting. I don't think I ever followed non-cable reality TV shows though I saw them occasionally like Survivor. Jail-time like reality TV shows are interesting too. But if you're into Project Runway, you should watch "Shear Genius" which is on Bravo every Wednesday at 10pm. It's just like Project Runway but with hair. I saw bits and parts of it and it's interesting. Right now, they're giving away an ultimate make-over at NYC, I know because I work with them.
