Today we celebrate our moms. And the joys of being a mom. We also treasure the mom we no longer have with us, although her love remains in our hearts.It's a day for tributes and memories. Tell us a story about your mother, or your experience of being a mother.

I like the gentleness of this poem, written by a young girl:
To My Mother
To-day’s your natal day,
Sweet flowers I bring;
Mother, accept, I pray,
My offering.
And may you happy live,
And long us bless;
Receiving as you give
Great happiness.
Christina Rossetti (1842)
Her first poem, written at age 11
I miss my mom. It's a particularly poignant ache in my chest today. Happy Mother's Day, Mom. I hope it's good where you are.
Mom story:
When I was still at home, Mom bought a Christmas tree and set in a bucket of sand and kept it outside until she wanted to bring it in for decorating. It was a good December and the tree was frozen in the sand. Mom was so happy that she didn't have to "mess with that darn tree stand this year" and said, "Why didn't I think of this sooner?"
She sat tree and bucket in the corner of the living room and we all proceeded to decorate the tree. An hour later, Mom was in the kitchen and I was in the living room watching TV. In a surreal, slow motion scene I saw our decorated Christmas tree coming toward me - tree and decorations landed on the floor.
Sand in bucket had melted.
I love that story and I have several - ones that she made me promise never to repeat. So keep it a secret, ok?
