Family emergency, so no time to chat. Instead I'll leave you with some pretty pictures.
First we've got Shane, the hottest cowboy who ever lived (David Carradine in his very young, incredibly sexy prime). He gave me my first book, BARRETT'S HILL, plus a couple of western novellas I wrote for Berkley and St. Martins.
Then we have Daniel Day-Lewis in his prime (I do like prime meat) who gave me A ROSE AT MIDNIGHT and TO LOVE A DARK LORD.
Gackt, who gave me THE DEVIL'S WALTZ (and part of Taka in ICE BLUE)

And there's Reno from Final Fantasy VII and Hyde as inspiration for Reno in the upcoming FIRE & ICE.
But the all time winner for book inspiration, the one who inspired bits of MONSTER IN THE CLOSET (in the Shadows collection), the novella in TO LOVE AND CHERISH (or whatever that was called), LORD OF DANGER and half a dozen others, including Elric in THE UNFORTUNATE MISS FORTUNES (just his attitude -- Elric looks like Howl and was inspired by Full Metal Alchemist) -- the winner of the Sister Krissie Award for Inspiration is:

Alan Rickman!
So who's your favorite of all these? Are you curious who inspired certain books? Ask and I shall tell. Sometimes I don't even realize it until later (Alan Rickman's voice in THE UNFORTUNATE MISS FORTUNES was a complete surprise).
Now I'm off to do damage control. A mother's work is never done. But in the meantime, let me know who of my choices appall you and who you adore.
And what other heroes you're curious about.

Well, you can tell how rattled I was. Ignore that other partial post (the one that consists of "ooops C" and ignore my grammatical error. It's "who appalls you", not "who apall you."
Or maybe not. If more than one of my choices appall you then it would be a plural verb. If only one is atrocious pick appall.
Take your choice. (And let's hope I'm spelling appall right -- it looks wrong but spell check didn't catch it).
Tsk tsk.
I guess you are rattled Krissie. I loved DDL in LAST OF THE MOHICANS, but not in much else. So my fave of your picks would be Rickman. Especially the death scene in Robinhood.
But of course I have my own favorites. Sully Erna from GODSMACK (that's a band, not a movie for those not into my kind of music.) He and his music have inpsired me lots. Sting has a couple of books to his credit, including FAIRYTALE, or maybe it was FOREVER ENCHANTED, whichever one it was, was originally titled "Sting, on a Horse." LOL.
Johnny Depp is doing it for me, when wearing eyeliner, as in PIRATES. Hasn't inspired a book yet, though. I have to think harder. There must be others.
Real people have inspired a book or two, but that's not a good idea unless you're sure they'll be around--at least until you finish.
Actually Reno has a lot of Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow to him. A total outrageousness (not to mention an interest in eyeliner).

I haven't written a romance yet, but the one I started, the hero was based on David Copperfield, the magician. Yummy! The other one that inspires me is Leo (Brian Kraus)from the series "Charmed." I know most fans fell all over Cole (Julian McMahon), but Leo, especially in gladiator gear did if for me!! Alan Rickman, when he's NOT Severus Snape in the Harry Potter movies works; Liam Nieson......where shall I end????
robyn in Iowa.....drooling all over her keyboard
Oh, don't end, Robyn! The more hot men the better.
And I even like Snape.
I gotta find my action figures. I have a Kevin Costner Robin Hood one and I make my Alan Rickman Sheriff one sit on top of him.
