So I've be
en reading recently, and I thought you'd like some recommendations. Not that any of these are new to you -- I'm assuming they're all over the best-seller lists but I'd thought I'd give you Sister Krissie's unbiased opinions.
First there's the Lisa Kleypas, MINE TILL MIDNIGHT. I'm only halfway through (the plane landed) but it's just luscious. I've had the mad hots for Cam Rohan since he first appeared in an earlier book, and here he is in all his glory. Yum!!!
Then there's JR Ward. I forgive her for being beautiful. I forgive her for giving her characters such silly names. Her books are over the top, rid
iculous, messy, juicy and wonderful. LOVER UNBOUND is extremely kinky, twisted, and man, does it work. I did skip most of the flashbacks, but oh my stars and garters! Definitely not for the fainthearted, or someone looking for trouble, but a wild ride that's just delicious.

And then there's Elizabeth Hoyt, next on my list of TBRs. I read the first two (THE LEOPARD PRINCE and THE RAVEN PRINCE) and I enjoyed them tremendously. The class issues make for very different reading, and I'm really looking forward to the newest.
I've got other goodies as well -- the latest Stephanie Meyer, Lani Diane Rich's books, and JANES'S WARLORD by Angela Knight (strongly recommended to me when I was in New Zealand). All in all, good stuff to curl up with during the nippy fall weather, with a cup of apple cinnamon herb tea and donuts (I never said I was healthy).
Actually I read for the same reason I eat. Not for improvement in mind or body, not for intellectual or physical sustenance. I do both for pleasure, lascivious creature that I am.
So, here's the question for the day. What new and wonderful books have you been reading? And what's your favorite comfort food to have while you read?

I also love JR Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood series and 'Lover Unbound' is definitely in my TBR stack. I recently finished Jenna Blacks's 'Shadows on the Soul' in her Guardians of the Night series and loved it and am presently enjoying Nalini Singh's 'Caressed by Ice' in her Psy-Changeling series. Being in the midwest with our cooler weather I love to curl up with my comfy afghan on the sofa and a hot cup of coffee or cocoa and just let a book take me to wherever the story and my imagination desires.
I am reading 74 Seaside Avenue by Debbie Macomber. Just finished Killer Dreams by Iris Johansen.
Recently finished Ice Cold Grave by Charlaine Harris and loved it...everything I'd been hoping for and more. Chips are my comfort food of choice...never met one I didn't like...and Pepsi, not Coke...Pepsi.
Great post, Anne! I have Jayne's Warlord. It's on to of the TBR stack, and was strongly recommended by a book store owner, so I'm looking forward to it.
No time to read right now! Thanks for filling in today.

Just finished Innocent as Sin by Elizabeth Lowell. Loved it. Also loved Tami Hoag's Kill The Messenger, though it's not a romance in any way.
URGH....
My post got eaten...
To recreate it...
How could you not read about V's past in LU. It made this present actions that much more meaning.
I've been working through my TBR pile and finished reading Dee Davis' Last Chance Inc trilogy and Elizabeth Bevarly's OPUS series. With both series.. I'm wondering why they sat so long on my TBR pile.
I don't have a favorite drink or food when I read. I normally am reading in bed because I can't sleep. :)
I just finished the fourth book in Louise Rennison's diary adventures of Georgia Nicolson. Fascinating insights to a 14 year old girl. Recently read several of Jennifer Apodaca's mysteries...good. These were all new to me writers.
Ooooh, I'm in the middle of Mine Till Midnight too!
Anne, you really struck a chord with our readers with this topic.
I'm into non-fiction. Eagerly awaiting the newest Jerry & Esther Hicks book, The Amazing Power of Emotions. You've made me hanker for some great fiction, though. Maybe I'll grab YOUR latest, because for me, an Anne Stuart novel is a sure thing!

I'm reading The Invitation, by Oriah Mountain Dreamer. Again. This time I'm reading it with my husband. It's better than ever before.
And I don't take comfort from food all that often so I can't really answer the second part of this!

I just finished reading all of these and they were really good
The Senator's Daughter-Debbie Wallace
Crossing the Line-Catherine Stang
Scuse Me While I KIll This Guy-Leslie Langtry
Montana Red-Genell Dellin
I read all of the time so whatever is handy in the kitchen, I eat it. But a nice cup of tea makes it better
HAPPY HALLOWEEN
I have finished reading Elizaneth Hoyt, Serpent Prince and I have really enjoyed it.
