. . . so for now, the world must come to me. Sad to say, the world is not in any particular hurry to do so. Except for this afternoon, when the cat, sunning himself by the window, suddenly snapped to attention.

What is that?!

I stumbled over to have a look. But it was no big deal. Just what you’d expect in Coronado. A man out walking his snake.

Unlike the cat, I had seen snakes before this. And as cats will, he soon lost interest in the proceedings. But having been incarcerated for going on two months, I was hungry for entertainment. And the story got more interesting when it turned into a flirtation. Or something of the sort.

He began alone, fondling his snake.

But she was fascinated, it seems, by the snake and let it slither up her arm and around her neck. I confess I could not watch that part.
And then they went upstairs, the three of them
It is now official. I have become a voyeur.

LOL...I guess he needs someone who will love his snake too!
I wouldn't call you a voyeur, they WERE right outside your window. If you'd of gone outside and leaned against a tree close to them and listened then I'd call voyeur! BG!
Lynn,
You've always been a voyeur!!! Aren't all writers?
My mother's been struggling with severe pain in her jaw, throat, face, neck since February - many doctors, many tests, many pills all for nothing. The pain is so severe it makes her cry when it comes and she has the highest pain threshhold I've ever known. This week the neurologist finally found the problem. Trigenal neurolgia (spelling?) Apparently this causes the worst pain in the history of humanity. The nerve disorder itself is not life threatening, but the pain can lead to suicide.
Anyway, wanted you to know you aren't alone in your horrible suffering. It's a test of strength I guess, but I already knew both of you were two of the strongest women I've ever known. If you'd have just asked, I'd have told you.
Hang in there. I think about you every day.
Tara. . . Is there anything that can be done? There is nothing worse than knowing someone is in pain and not being about to do anything about it.
Lynn. . . Loved the photos and commentary. I'm so sorry you're still cave-bound. I think maybe pecans are in order.
Lymond never takes a bad photo but this one is stunning! He looks wild and beautiful.
I love the man and his snake's story. Hope you feel better soon!

That's a great picture of an "interested" cat...
Love does go around!

LOL, great post! And pictures too. That makes us all voyeurs, I guess, but then writers have to be.
Oh, I see Tara said that above. Yes, afraid it's true. I'm always peering at people, trying to figure out not just what they're doing, but what they're thinking as they're doing it.
Sorry you're still down with shingles. It's just not fair that they can't do something about that. I'm sure you've googled it. Did you ever look for a support group? You might get some good info there.
Meanwhile, very gentle virtual hugs, which are probably the only kind you can stand. And prayers that you're better soon!
Suz
Lynn,
The evenings are warming now and the Aquanaughties are missing you at Water Aerobics. Please get well soon and let me know if there is anything that I can do for you....running errands, shopping whatever.
FYI: Your cat is absolutely gorgeous!
A large group of the Aquanaughties went to Palm Springs for 2 nights. We had a great time abd there are many stories to be told about this little adventure. It would have been great if we could have had our own historian/writer chronicle some of the events. We are planning another trip in the Nov/Jan/Mar timeframe and hope that you will be able to join in the fun and frolic next time.
Missing you...
Sharkie (AKA Dolores)
Having known several friends who've gone through what you're going through you really have my sympathy..it's terrible. When I heard about the vaccine I raced out to get it. Don't know if it helps if you've already had shingles..Glad you and Lymond had something interesting to look at. Did you name him after Dorothy Dunnett's hero?
