I'd love it if you'd all help me make a list today. I'm in a quirky mood - a month into a life and death endeavor (non-medical) with two and a half months to go and am determined to stay standing and succeed. I will succeed. There's no other choice, there. No doubt. The goal is to succeed with mental and physical health intact.
I've been making a mental list. And would love some help.
The idea is to start with "you know it's a good day when" and then fill in the rest. Some days I can only find something very small. Other times, more substantial. In this game there is no order of importance, and anything goes...
So...
1. You know it's a good day when you start naming the places you're looking at as possible living quarters and the names come out like, 'enduring until death' and you find that funny.
2. You know it's a good day when the temperature in Ohio is the same as the temperature in Phoenix.
3. You know it's a good day when you have plenty of diet coke.
4. You know it's a good day when you're happy to see rain because it isn't snow.
5. You know it's a good day when you love the jewelry you put on that morning.
6. You know it's a good day when your eyeglasses are clean!
7. You know it's a good day when your phone dings a text message.
8. You know it's a good day when you can look at the photographs all around you and smile.
9. You know it's a good day when you have blog sisters.
10. You know it's a good day when you're excited about the challenges in front of you and have the energy to conquer them.
11. You know it's a good day when you want M&M's. And have some.
12. You know it's a good day when you aren't fighting with it as soon as you wake up.
13. You know it's a good day when you have an idea of what to fix for lunch.
14. You know it's a good day when you get to skate.
15. You know it's a good day when you look in the mirror and don't feel like crying.
16. You know it's a good day when you look at your honey and know without a doubt that you are with the right person.
17. You know it's a good day when your four legged babies follow you to the necessary room.
18. You know it's a good day when the piles of paperwork to get through make you feel alive and important.
19. You know it's a good day when someone sees you coming and smiles.
20. You know it's a good day when you remember to light your candle and turn on you music. And remember to blow the candle out, too!
21. You know it's a good day when you rush to the hospital behind an ambulance and find out when you get there that's everything's fine.
22. You know it's a good day when you reach out to touch someone and they touch back.
23. You know it's a good day when you can reach out to touch someone.
24. You know it's a good day when food doesn't stick to the dishes in the sink.
25. You know it's a good day when you find out you're out of paper towel and you don't burst into tears.
26. You know it's a good day when you're warm!
27. You know it's a good day when there's money in the mail instead of bills.
28. You know it's a good day when you can see a modern dance concert.
29. You know it's a good day when your lover doesn't have to go to work!!!
30. You know it's a good day when your editor calls and sounds cheerful!
31. You know it's a good day when you actually look at the pretty things on your desk.
32. You know it's a good day when you wake up and are still breathing.
33. You know it's a good day when you can find everything you need.
34. You know it's a good day when the IRS is on your side.
35. You know it's a good day when the cuckoo clock keeps you company.
36. You know it's a good day when you both want exactly the same thing.
37. You know it's a good day when you find out your DVR recorded brand new "Without a Trace"'s and you thought the show had been cancelled!

39. You know it's a good day when you don't know what was on TV at midnight.
40. You know it's a good day when you can't remember what you dreamed.
41. You know it's a good day when you're looking forward to making dinner.
42. You know it's a good day when you wake up and the person next to you makes your heart sing.
43. You know it's a good day when your phone has plenty of battery charge.
44. You know it's a good day when you find it funny that out of your twenty-two clocks not one tells the correct time. Or the same time.
45. You know it's a good day when you can look at your incorrect clocks and know what the correct time is.
46. You know it's a good day when you think you're on a business call and make a new friend.
47. You know it's a good day when someone accepts a friend request.
48. You know it's a good day when you take pleasure from the plastic butterflies stuck to your window.
49. You know it's a good day when you hit number one on the New York Times list. I have this on good authority from a writer acquaintance of mine whose household is celebrating. I'm touching the joy vicariously and it still feels good! Congratulation Wiggs!!

51. You know it's a good day when your clothes all fit in your closet. And you didn't have to get rid of any to make that happen.

53. You know it's a good day when you want a new electrical outlet and you live with someone who can give you one. That works. Right where you want it. That very same day.

55. You know it's a good day when the thought of doing laundry puts you in a good mood. (Or is the Millionaire show you get to watch as you're folding clothes that does it?)
56. You know it's a good day when you have nieces and nephews who make you smile from the inside out.

58. You know it's a good day when you order something on line and it ships that very same day.
59. You know it's a good day when someone tells you your golden.
60. You know it's a good day when you don't want to stop coming up with reasons why it's a good day.
61. You know it's a good day when your attorney represents you and helps you.
62. You know it's a good day when the roof doesn't leak.
63. You know it's a good day when the bathroom sink is clean - even better when you didn't have to clean it!
64. You know it's a good day when your significant other asks you to drive just because you like to drive.
65. You know it's a good day when you go back to your old neighborhood and there's something that is exactly as it was thirty years ago.
66. You know it's a good day when you have memories that make you smile. And give you strength. And fill you up. And comfort you.
67. You know it's a good day when you find out that what you knew when you were still a teenager and knew everything - was actually right!
68. You know it's a good day when you can live with your regrets.
69. You know it's a good day when the pool of sparkling blue water is actually warm enough to swim in.
70. You know it's a good day when there's food on the grill, a fire in the pit, beer in the cooler, and the love of your life standing right beside you.
71. You know it's good day when you go for a bottle of wine and find three of your favorite kind in the wine cooler.
72. You know it's a good day when you need index cards for the work in progress and find some in your office storage closet.
73. You know it's a good day when the baby girl poodle lets you brush her teeth.
74. You know it's a good day when you ask princess poodle if she remembers Darcy Doolittle and she jumps up with ears cocked and starts looking all around her.
75. You know it's a good day when your sister in law cares. And knows you care.
76. You know it's a good day when you get a text from your mother from a ship on the ocean and she's tipsy from tequilla tasting.
77. You know it's a good day when the machine that's been greedily consuming your pennies suddenly starts spitting them back. In numbers too big to count.
78. You know it's a good day when you see Texas Hold'Em on TV and actually know what's going on!
79. You know it's a good day when you watch a home repair show and actually know what's going on!
80. You know it's a good day when you can look at a picture of Mona Lisa and remember what the original painting looks like first hand hanging on a wall of the Louvre. And when you feel now, just as you felt then, looking at those eyes.

83. You know it's a good day when you've done a lot of things for other people.

You didn't leave much to add. I always know it's a good day when my three dog friends wake with their tails wagging and a big grin on their faces.
When your son does something considerate and someone else notices and tells you about it.
When after 2 years you finally have all your books entered into your database program...and find out you have 1,899 books and only 3 duplicates! LOL
Wow, your list is so big you didn't leave us any room! But I'll try.

Tara, thank you so much for your post. I've been struggling with depression all weekend (a life long issue for me, but especially difficult this winter)! Here's the ones I've come up with:
You know it's a good day when your cats purr in your lap.
You know it's a good day when you learn a new stitch.
You know it's a good day when you have a job to go to.
You know it's a good day when you have more books on your shelf than you can possibly read.
You know it's a good day when you have novels, short stories and essays running around your head, waiting to be written.
