The House on Elm Street
By Ella Costa
Annie walked down the dark narrow street thinking about the old house on Elm street. The place had been abandoned for almost 30 years. There use to be a man who lived there when her Mom was younger. He killed his wife and three kids. Annie’s mom had said that she had been walking past the old house one night and she heard screams and things being thrown. The man died mysteriously 15 years later. Now everyone says they hear screams see people/ shadows standing in the windows. Annie’s always wanted to go in the house but she’s too scared to go alone. Annie went home and went to bed.
The next morning Annie got a phone call from her best friend Janice. Janice wanted to know if Annie wanted to spend the night. Annie had said yes of course. She really said yes because Janice had said they were going to go to the house on Elm Street.
Annie packed her bags right away and went to Janice’s house. Her friend Julliana was there too. Now it was only 12:00 and they had to wait till it was dark to go to the house so they wouldn’t get caught. So to make the day go by faster they did a makeovers, watched the mystery show, went out for lunch and played cards and board games.
It was finally 8:00 and they set off and were on their way. When they got to Elm Street they walked down till they got to the old house. They just stood there frozen in there tracks staring at the house. It looked scarier than ever. They started walking till they got to the porch steps. They started walking up them. They squeeked loud. They opened the door and walked in. Leaving the door open behind them they walked one step at a time in. All of a sudden the door shut behind them. They turned around fast. The door was shut and locked! They were all speechless. They were frightened and had no idea what to do. They decided that they needed to try and find another door or an open window.
They looked around and had found some stairs. The stairs seemed like they were never ending. They just kept going down and down and down. At last they came to an old rickety door. They opened it and walked in slowly. It was dark inside and it seemed to be some sort of a basement.
All of a sudden a white figure appeared. All three girls jumped back. The white figure said nothing except "You're in trouble now." All three girls tried to run but couldn’t. It was like they were paralyzed. They glided up towards the white figure not even moving their feet! The white figure was right in their face and started laughing. Then they all got slammed against the wall and the next thing you know there was blood flying everywhere.
The next day when the girls hadn’t come back, Annie’s mom just kind of knew what had happened and told the other to moms to meet her at the house on Elm Street. And so they did. Annie’s mom with matches, Janice's mom with gasoline and Juliana’s mom with more matches. That day they burned the house. All three mothers left in tears that day. And to this day no one goes down Elm Street.
